Naglabas ng pahayag si Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary Jeffrey Dy hinggil sa naging pag-alis ng Kamara ng proposed confidential funds ng ahensya para sa taong 2024.
Matatandaang inihayag kamakailan ni Marikina 2nd District Rep. Stella Quimbo nitong Martes, Oktubre 10, na limang ahensya ng gobyerno, kabilang na ang DICT, ang bigyan ng “zero confidential funds” sa 2024 budget para ilipat umano sa mga ahensyang dumidipensa sa isyu ng West Philippine Sea (WPS) at nakatutok sa “peace and order” ng bansa.
Sa pahayag ni Dy na inulat ng CNN Philippines, sinabi niyang nalungkot sila sa naturang balita hinggil sa pag-alis ng confidential funds ng DICT.
“We are saddened by this news.”
“In light of the recent attack on Philhealth, and the importance of Cybersecurity, and the work our National Computer Emergency Response Team, along with NPC and CICC are doing to defend our people in Cyberspace, our CF was removed,” pahayag ni Dy.
"We however respect the wisdom of Congress. We appeal however that perhaps they can at least increase the non-confidential portions of our budget,” saad pa niya.
Humiling kamakailan ang DICT ng ₱300 milyong confidential funds upang labanan umano ang scammers at iba pang cyber criminals.
