Ibinasura ng Supreme Court, umuupo bilang Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), nitong Martes ng umaga ang electoral protest na isinampa ni dating senador Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos laban kay Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo.
Matatandaan na naghain ng protesta si Marcos laban kay Robredo noong 2016 na nakapaloob ang tatlong kadahilanan; una, ang annulment ng proclamation ni Robredo; recount at revision ng mga balota sa 36,465 protested clustered precincts; at annulment ng election results para sa Vice President sa probinsya ng Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, at Basilan bunsod umano ng umano’y terorismo; intimidation at harassment sa mga botante gaya ng pre-shading ng balota sa 2,756 protested clustered precincts.
Ito ay matapos ideklarang natalo si Marcos sa 2016 vice presidential race at ikinasa ang poll protest laban kay Robredo noong June 30, 2016.
Sa datos, nalamanagan siya ni Robredo ng 263,473 boto.
Habang noong nakaraang buwan, hiniling din ni Marcos sa tribunal na muling bisitahin ang resulta ng poll recount at i-validate ang voter signatures mula sa tatlong probinsya sa Mindanao.
Sa kanyang protesta, sinabing ang probinsya ng Camarines Sur, Iloilo, at Negros Oriental ay kanyang pilot areas para sa recount at revision ng mga balota.
“Thus, based on the final tally after revision and appreciation of the votes in the pilot provinces, protestee Robredo maintained, as in fact she increased her lead with 14,436,337 votes over protestant Marcos who obtained 14,157,771 votes. After the revision and appreciation, the lead of protestee Robredo increased from 263,473 to 278,566,” saad sa desisyon ng PET.
