OPISYAL nang kasama ang GMA Network sa elite group ng content creators sa Southeast Asia na mayroon nang mahigit 10 million subscribers sa YouTube.
Pormal na iginawad sa Siyete nitong nakaraang Martes ang Diamond Creator Award, bilang pagkilala ng YouTube sa naturang accomplishment. Present sa ceremonial turnover ang top guns ng GMA sa pangunguna ni GMA Network Chairman/CEO Felipe L. Gozon.
Ang Diamond Play Button ay iniabot ng Southeast Asia Director of Content Partnerships and Business Development ng YouTube na si Vishal Sarin at Content Partnerships Philippines Country Lead na si Pablo Mendoza.
Sa pamamagitan ng new media and technology arm ng GMA, nagsimulang makipagtulungan ang network sa YouTube noong kalagitnaan ng 2017. Dahil dito ay nagkaroon ng pagkakataon ang viewers saan mang dako ng mundo para mapanood online ang buong episode ng GMA programs.
Nakatulong din ang partnership para maiwasan ang anti-piracy efforts ng GMA Network at maihatid ang mga panoorin sa younger o millennial viewers na iba na ang viewing habits kumpara sa older generations.
Mula sa 1.6 milyong subscribers noong June 2017, umabot na ito sa mahigit 10 milyon nitong nakaraang Mayo. Simula noong nakaraang Disyembre, humanay na ang GMA Network sa Top 50 sa ranking ng YouTube. Ang channel ay dating nasa Top 200 noong 2017.
“We are very gratified that GMA has reached quite an achievement and it is translated into about four times growth (in watch time) year-on-year so that’s enough reason for us to be really happy. This is the work of many people and they are all here as we receive this Diamond Creator Award,” sabi ni Atty. Gozon.
