ANG Pinoy singer-actor na si Leo Consul ang Pilipino na kumpirmadong kabilang sa main hosts ng bagong franchise ng It’s Showtime sa Indonesia.
Lunes nang kumpirmahin ng business unit head ng It’s Showtime na si Peter Edward Dizon ang panibagong tagumpay ng programa nang ibalita nitong nabili ng MNC TV ng Indonesia ang franchise ng ABS-CBN noontime show.
Isang sorpresa para sa mga kapwa Pinoy artists na nais na mapabilang sa It’s Showtime Indonesia ang pagkakapili kay Leo para maging isa sa hosts ng noontime show, na mapapanood na simula sa March 25. Kinilig naman ang Indonesian fans ni Leo, dahil kilalang-kilala siya sa nasabing bansa.

It was in 2006 when Leo made his first attempt in showbiz by joining a reality talent competition, ang Pinoy Dream Academy, pero hindi siya nagtagumpay.
Leo, who hails from Pangasinan, then decided to move to Indonesia to work as an English teacher. But before long, he was discovered by BMG Indonesia, with whom he would later sign a contract.
Hanggang sa nagkaroon ng Indonesian franchise ang Eat Bulaga noong 2011, which would become Leo’s unexpected breakthrough as a long-time aspiring artist—only this time, he really made it big in Indonesia.
“It started everything for me. From then on, I got my own shows, my first ever teleserye, game shows, but it was really the teleserye that made me known here. Teleseryes are big here just like in the Philippines,” pahayag ni Leo.
Sa hiwalay na panayam, Leo stressed the significance of having a Filipino representative in the Indonesian version of It’s Showtime.
“Having Filipino representation will surely play a significant role in this franchise by showing people that both nations can work together regardless of our differences in culture and ways. By having this representation, it will encourage and strengthen the beautiful concept and core value of acceptance and diversity,” sey niya.
Makakasama ni Leo sa It’s Showtime Indonesia bilang kapwa hosts sina Luna Maya, Chika Jessica Raffi Ahmad, at Inra Herlambang.
Also, Kapamilya It’s Showtime Director Bobet Vidanes and hosts, Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz will be flying to Indonesia to grace the grand launch this Monday.
