Nagbaba ng ‘work stoppage order’ si Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III sa lahat ng pabrika paputok at pyrotechnics sa bansa bunga ng sunud-sunod na pagsabog sa mga pagawaan ng paputok sa Bulacan simula noong Oktubre.
“Pursuant to the Rule 1012-02 of the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHC) in relation to Article 168 of the Labor Code, as amended and renumbered, and rule VIII of Department Order No. 131-B, series of 2016, this work stoppage order is hereby issue for all establishments engaged in the manufacture and sale of pyrotechnics and firecrackers,” saad sa ibinabang kautusan.
Inaatasan nito ang regional director ng DoLE, na may technical assistance mula sa OSHC at Bureau of Working Conditions, na umikot sa mga establisimyento at suriin kung sumusunod ang mga ito sa safety at health standards at pangkalahatang pamantayan sa paggawa, at makipag-ugnayan sa Bureau of Local Employment at Bureau of Workers with Concerns upang mabigyan ng tulong ang mga manggagawa na maaapektuhan ng kautusan.
