Isang traffic enforcer ng Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) ang sinibak sa puwesto matapos na mahuli sa isang video na nangongotong umano sa isang traffic violator sa Binondo, Manila.

Nabatid na kaagad na inisyuhan ni MTPB OIC-Director Dennis Viaje ng Cease and Desist Order (CDO) si Edgar Pangilinan, isang job order employee ng MTPB, matapos na makarating sa kaniya ang viral video ng umano’y pangongotong nito.

Sa CDO, na may petsang Enero 27, 2026, inatasan rin ni Viaje si Pangilinan na isauli ang kanyang Ordinance Violation Receipt (OVR) tickets, identification cards, handheld radio, at body camera sa MTPB.

Nakasaad din sa nasabing kautusan na ang dahilan ng kanyang pagkakatanggal sa serbisyo ay dahil sa pangongotong.

“In the interest of the service, and in view of the One-Strike Policy being strictly enforce by this office against erring MTPB traffic personnel, effective immediately, you are hereby directed to Cease and Desist from performing your assigned duties and responsibilities as Traffic Enforceer, for committing illegal Exaction (Kotong) against a traffic violator you recently apprehended,” anang kautusan, na may petsang Enero 27, 2026.

“Said misdeed does not only adversely affected the morale and team spirit of your colleagues but also brought dishonor upon the entire MTPB organization, hence your service is deemed inappropriate and no longer required as a consequence thereof,” anito pa.

Dagdag pa nito, “As such, you are instructed to yield your OVR, Identification Cards, Handheld Radio and Body Camera (if any) to the undersigned for proper disposition.”
