Kinumpirma ng Armed Forces of the Philippines ang insidente ng barilan sa Tipo-Tipo sa Basilan nitong Martes, Oktubre 28.

Sa pahayag ng AFP, nag-ugat ang insidente mula sa "local rido-related conflict" at ito raw under control na.

"The Armed Forces of the Philippines confirms that the situation Tipo-Tipo, Basilan stems from a local rido-related conflict between community groups. The incident is now under control, with the Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (CCCH) and the Provincial Government of Basilan facilitation dialogue and de-escalation," anang AFP.

"The AFP, through the Western Mindanao Command and Joint Task Force Orion, continues to coordinate closely with the Philippine National Police, the Basilan Council of Elders and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (mILF) leadership to restore normalcy and protect civilians," dagdag pa nila.

Matatandaang sinuspinde ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Tipo-Tipo ang mga klase sa paaralan at opisina ng pamahalaan dahil sa insidente.
