Ibinahagi ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na magbibigay sila ng libreng single journey ticket sa mga pasaherong makararanas ng system error sa pilot run ng cashless payments sa MRT-3.
"Starting Monday, August 4, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and MRT-3 will provide free single journey tickets (SJT) to passengers who are unable to tap out at MRT-3 stations due to system errors during the pilot run of cashless payments in the train line," saad ng DOTr.
Dagdag pa, "This is in line the President’s directives to implement immediate solutions to the concerns raised by MRT-3 passengers availing the cashless payments using debit/credit cards, QR codes and NFC-enabled mobile devices."
Gagawin ang hakbang na ito bilang solusyon sa mga reklamo ng mga pasahero.

Ayon sa DOTr, ang partikular na inirereklamo sa kanila ay ang paniningil ng maximum na pamasahe na ₱28 kapag nag-tap out sa exit turnstile.
"As a solution, affected passengers will be given a non-expiring SJT equivalent to the maximum MRT fare, which they can use for their next ride. To claim the free SJT, simply proceed to any MRT-3 ticket booth and present proof of the failed tap-out transaction," ayon pa sa ahensya.
Samantala, humihingi ng pang-unawa si DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon sa mga problema sa pilot run ng cashless payment sa MRT-3.
“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa overwhelming na suporta ng mga pasahero sa cashless payments natin sa MRT. Humihingi lang din tayo ng konting pang-unawa sa ilang mga problema ngayong pilot run, pero rest assured na within this August, dadami pa ang cashless turnstiles natin at tuloy-tuloy ang system upgrades para iwas-aberya,” ani Dizon.
