Nanindigan si Philippine Army (PAF) chief, Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner, Jr. na hindi bibigyan ng special treatment si dating Presidential Security Group chief, Brig. Gen. Jesus Durante III na nasa kustodiya na ng militar matapos umanong iturong mastermind sa pamamaslang sa modelo at negosyanteng si Yvonette Chua Plaza sa Davao City noong 2022.
"We do not tolerate any wrongdoings or criminal acts, no matter what the rank of our soldiers, be they officers or enlisted personnel, we treat them the same," paniniyak ni Brawner nitong Huwebes.
Si Durante ay sinibak na sa puwesto bilang commander ng 1001st Infantry Battalion (IB) ng PA matapos makaladkad ang pangalan sa kaso.
"So when we found out that there was a report like this and Gen. Durante was a person of interest, we immediately had a conference and then we decided to first remove him from his position as commander of the 1001st brigade so that the investigation would be impartial and thorough, that's the SOP (standard operating procedure)," aniya.

Si Durante, kasama ang siyam na iba pa ay sinampahan na ng kaso sa Davao City Prosecutor's Office kaugnay sa pagpaslang kay Plaza.
Matatandaang pinagbabaril ng riding in-tandem si Plaza sa harap ng inuupahang bahay sa Green Meadows Subd., Barangay Tugbok, Davao City noong Disyembre 29, 2022.
