Humingi ng public apology si CJ Villavicencio ang inakusahan ng plagiarism dahil sa panggagaya ng ilang parte ng Huling El Bimbo: The Musical play na ipinalabas sa Resorts World noong 2019.

Binatikos si CJ ni Jeff Flores, kilalang kompositor at theater actor dahil ginaya nito ang ilang parte ng Huling El Bimbo: The Musical na ipinalabas sa Resorts World noong 2019 sa video entry niya sa Pop Stage hango sa awitingnPare Ko ng Eraserheads na sinulat naman ni Myke Solomon.

Sa official statement ni CJ na ipinost sa Facebook ay humingi siya ng paumanhin.

“Iwas hurt and it also aches my heart to unintentionally hurt some people as well, especially the production team of ‘Ang Huling El Bimbo The Musical.

“My final performance during the finals of ‘The Pop Stage’ is an Eraserheads medley and was meant to be a tribute to my favorite artists and musical while also incorporating my own story and experiences,” mababasa sa post.

Paglilinaw niya: “There was no intention whatsoever on my part to plagiarize. Iam sorry if Icaused undue distress, seemed disrespectful or if Ihave hurt the theater community.

“Honestly, the things that I’ve read slightly affected my mental health. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who messaged just to check up on me.

“Clearly, as an amateur and aspiring artist, Istill have so many things to learn. Ihumbly ask for everyone’s understanding as Inavigate this new world that Ihave recently entered. Iam not a bad person. My intentions were far different from what people think,” diin niya.
