PAGKATAPOS mag-aral ng business program for quite some time, nais ni Iñigo Pascual na muling mag-shift to another course that would further help him enhance his skills in music sa MINT College.

Bilang isa sa mga batambatang OPM artists in the country today, ibinahagi ni Iñigo ang plano niya to take up music production. “I’m switching courses, actually. Same course kami ni Mamameh (tawag niya sa rumored sweetheart na si Maris Racal). We might go to the same school. We’re gonna do music production. Hopefully, this coming semester makapasok na kami,” pahayag pa ng 21-year-old singer-songwriter sa launch ng Cornerstone Music last September 27.

Ang love and passion for music ni Iñigo ang kanyang naging inspirasyon to shift to another program.

“I really wanted to do business. I mean it’s something that my Dad (Piolo Pascual) does so I wanted to learn it as well. Pero naisip ko ‘ano ba talaga ‘yung gusto kong gawin?’.

“Syempre my dad has Spring Films. Sabi ko I wanna make something like Spring Record. I wanna learn this stuff and be able to make music. Palawakin pa ‘yung puwede kong gawin. ‘Yung pag-iisip ko in terms of creating songs, creating music, so naisip ko why not study it and dive into it and immerse myself in the music scene not as a celebrity, not as a signed artist but as a student in the production side of things,” mahaba niyang paliwanag.

Despite his decision to change program, Iñigo said his dad has been very supportive of him.

“Ever since sobrang supportive niya. Siguro si Papa mas nagustuhan niya nga na naisip ko ‘yun. Kasi sabi niya makakatulong din ako if ever sa mga movies na gagawin niya. Baka makapag-movie scoring ako or something, ‘di ba? Very supportive naman siya,” kuwento ni Iñigo.

Kinumpirma rin ni Iñigo na may plano rin ang ama na si Piolo to return to school.

“My dad’s actually gonna go to school as well. I think he’s gonna go take a short course somewhere else. I think he’s gonna try and do production as well,” kuwento ni Iñigo.

Bagamat busy si Iñigo sa kanyang recordings, tapings, at sa ASAP, sinabi niyang he still finds a way to manage work and school because he is driven by his interest to learn new things.

“Siguro ‘pag gusto mo rin talaga, eh. Hindi mo naman magagawa ‘yun kung wala kang sarili or kusang gawa. It has to come from you. It can’t come from someone na ‘kailangan gawin mo ‘to, kailangan gawin mo ‘yan’. Kailangan ikaw ‘yung magkukusang mag-decide na ‘gusto ko mag-aral’.

“Kasi ako, ‘di ba, for two years I stopped school and then I realized I wanna study and learn more things no matter how busy you are,” sabi pa niya.

Maria for being a living testament of a celebrity who inspires everyone to pursue their education no matter what comes in their way.

“Si Ate Jodi nga, ‘di ba, she’s studying Psychology and she’s working at the same time. So things like that nakaka-inspire. Kasi alam mo ‘yun, puwede pala. Puwede mong gawin kung gugustuhin. Kung gusto, may paraan,” sabi pa ni Iñigo.
