DADALHIN ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) ang dalawang restored classics na Himala ni Ishmael Bernal at Moral ni Marilou Diaz-Abaya sa Far East Film Festival sa Udine, Italy ngayong Abril 26 -27, 2018.
Ang Pilipinas ang country of focus sa festival ngayong taon at parte na rin ng pagdiriwang ng ikasandaang taon ng Philippine cinema.
Ang FDCP ang mangunguna sa Philippine delegation sa filmfest na magtatampok din sa Si Chedeng at Si Apple, Smaller and Smaller Circles at Ang Larawan (in competition) at ang filmmakers ng mga ito ay suportado ng International Film Festival Assistance Program (IFFAP) .
Bukod pa rito, magkakaroon din ng Sandaan: Philippine Cinema Centennial Talks sa pagdiriwang ng Isang Daang Taon ng Philippine cinema. Kabilang sa speakers sina Mr. Ed Lajano, Festival Director ng QCinema, Bianca Balbuena, CEO ng EpicMedia, renowned actress na si Elizabeth Oropesa para sa Filipino Popular Cinema na pangangasiwaan ni Mr. Max Tessier sa Abril 26.
Ang Film historian at documentarist na si Nick Deocampo ay magho-host naman ng isang panel na pinamagatang Discovering the Past: Asian Film History - Filipino Cinema during WWII, at ipapakilala ni Mr. Roger Garcia, Festival Director ng Hong Kong International Film Festival sa Abril 27.
“I am pleased to say that The Sandaan: Philippine Centennial Talks is our way of sharing our history and our way of filmmaking to the world as we celebrate this important milestone ,” sabi ni FDCP Chairperson/CEO na si Liza Diño.
“Through FDCP’s IFFAP, we were able to bridge Filipino filmmakers in International Film Festivals. These are a few of the opportunities that we are proud that we were able to provide to level the playing field when it comes to the Global Arena, because these films can actually deliver and can compete head on given the proper support from the government,” dagdag niya.
Ang Far East Film Festival ay tatakbo simula Abril 20 hanggang 29.
