TAGUMPAY para sa local softball at baseball program ang katatapos na 2018 Southeast Asian Youth Baseball Softball Tournament (SEABYST) kamakailan sa Villages, Global Clark.

Itinaguyod ng International Little League Association of Manila (ILLAM), ang community organization na nagsusulong sa kaunlaran ng baseball t softball sa bansa, ang regional meet.

“This was one of the biggest SEAYBST tournaments in recent history!” pahayag ni tournament director Nana Guzman.

“We were extremely happy that teams as far as Dubai and Doha participated in this year’s 4-day tournament,” pahayag ni ILLAM-President Bing Tionloc.

Maituturing high-level tournament ang SEABYST kung saan kailangan mag-tryout ng mga player para mapabilang sa kani-kanilang koponan. Binubuo ng 14 na miyembro kasama na ang reserves sa bawat koponan.

Tulad sa SEA Games, ang hosting ng taunang torneo ay paikot sa bawat bansang miyembro na kinabibilangan ng Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila, Singapore at Perth.

Ginanap ang 2018 edition sa The Villages, Global Clark, sa loob ng Clark International Sports Complex. Kabilang sa mga sumabak ang koponan ng Perth, Pampanga, Pasig, Jakarta, Bangkok, Singapore, Dubai, Doha, at Manila.

“It was enormous boost to this Region’s tourism efforts,” pahayag ni Lillian Urbina, ILLAM-VP, nangasiwa sa logistics at hotel bookings para sa mahigit 500 atleta at opisyal.
