MULING hahatulan ang dating aktres na si Amy Locane (napanood sa School Ties at Melrose Place) dahil sa 2010 car crash na nauwi sa pagkamatay ng 60 taong gulang na NYU adjunct professor sa New Jersey.

Si Locane, na mayroong blood alcohol level na .26 nang maganap ang aksidente, ay una nang hinatulan ng tatlong taong pagkakakulong dahil sa akdeinte na kumitil sa buhay ni Helene Seeman, iniulat ng NJ.com nitong Biyernes.

Tinukoy ng New Jersey appellate court ang magaan na kaparusahan at sinabing, “we expect our colleagues will agree that the sentence in this case, a hair’s breath away from illegal, shocks the conscience.”

Ito ang pangalawang pagkuwestiyon sa hatol ng Appellate Division ni state Superior Court Judge Robert B. Reed. Makaraan ang unang pagkuwestiyon, bumalik si Locane sa korte para basahan ng hatol noong Enero 2017 ngunit hindi na siya binigyan ni Reed ng karagdagan taon o panahon sa kulungan.

Ayon sa pinakabagong appellate ruling, “(Locane) went unpunished for the injuries inflicted upon Seeman, despite the fact she could have easily made alternative arrangements the night of the accident and could have easily avoided driving, was extremely intoxicated, and was engaging in risky maneuvers before the crash. That is an error we cannot correct.”
