BAGHDAD (AP) – Matapos ang mahigit tatlong taong opensiba, ipinahayag ng Iraq kahapon na tapos na ang digmaan sa grupong Islamic State matapos mapalayas ng security forces ng bansa ang mga terorista mula sa lahat ng teritoryo na kinubkob ng mga ito.
Pormal na ipinahayag ni Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi ang tagumpay sa kanyang pagtalumpati sa bansa na ipinalabas sa Iraqi state television nitong Sabado ng gabi.
“Honorable Iraqis, your land has been completely liberated,’’ aniya. “The liberation dream has become a reality. We achieved victory in difficult circumstances and with God’s help, the steadfastness of our people and the bravery of our heroic forces we prevailed.’’
