Iniutos ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pagsibak kay Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) chairman at chief executive officer (CEO) Jose Vicente Salazar matapos mapatunayan na nagkasala sa kasong neglect of duty at iba pang mga anomalya.
Ibinaba ang dismissal ni Salazar limang buwan matapos sabihin ni Pangulong Duterte na tatanggalin niya sa puwesto ang ERC chief at matapos itong suspendihin dahil sa kurapsiyon.
Sa 20-pahinang desisyon ng Office of the President (OP), napatunayan na si Salazar ay nagkasala ng dalawang bilang ng simple misconduct at isang bilang ng grave misconduct.

Nakasaad sa pahayag ng Office of the Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs (ODESLA), na ang pagsibak kay Salazar sa serbisyo ay alinsunod sa pangako ni Duterte na linisin sa kurapsiyon ang bansa.
“In the decision signed by the Executive Secretary last Friday, the Office of the President has found Atty. Jose Vicente B. Salazar administratively liable for two (2) counts of Simple Misconduct and one (1) count of Grave Misconduct,” saad ng ODESLA.
“The dismissal from grave misconduct carries with it all accessory penalties, including the perpetual disqualification from holding public office and forfeiture of retirement benefits,” dagdag dito.
