Mariing nanindigan si Senador Risa Hontiveros na hindi umano sila mananahimik matapos ang naging tila pagkondena ng Chinese Embassy sa ipinasang resolusyon ng Senado na kumukondena rin sa mga pahayag ng nasabing embahada sa mga mambabatas at opisyal sa Pilipinas.
Ayon kasi sa inilabas na pahayag ni Chinese Embassy Spokesperson Ji Lingpeng sa kanilang Facebook page noong Martes, Pebrero 10, 2026, sinabi niyang mariin daw nilang hindi tinatanggap ang umano’y “anti-China resolution” ng Senado at idiniin nilang isa lamang itong “political stunt.”
“We firmly reject and strongly condemn the said anti-China resolution. Some Philippine legislators repeatedly resort to threats and intimidation against Chinese diplomats. They claim they represent public opinion but actually twist facts and mislead the public. The said senate resolution is nothing but a political stunt,” anang spokesperson.
Dahil dito, naglabas ng pahayag si Hontiveros sa opisyal na website ng Senado nitong Miyerkules, Pebrero 11, at binuwelta niyang wasto ang resolusyon ng Senado at nakakaapekto ito para sa pangnasyonal na interes at batas ng bansa.

Aniya, hindi raw sila mananahimik kaugnay sa mga pahayag na inilalabas ng umano’y “foreign actors” tungkol sa kanila.
“A Senate resolution is a legitimate and appropriate tool for legislators to express concern over actions that affect Philippine laws, sovereignty, and national interests. We will not be silenced or deterred by statements from foreign actors,” pagsisimula niya.
Dagdag pa niya, “We will continue to use lawful instruments, including resolutions, to put these matters on record, kahit isang milyon pa ang pahayag laban dito. This is our constitutional duty.”
Ani Hontiveros, kayang-kaya raw nilang magsumite ng 100 na mga resolution ngunit hindi pa rin daw magbabago ang sitwasyon sa pagitan ng bansang China at Pilipinas dahil mga kinikilos ng People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, Chinese Coast Guard, at Maritime Militia sa West Philippine Sea.
“Indeed, we can file 100 resolutions and the situation won't improve because the real problem facing the Philippines isn't the Chinese Embassy descending to the level of the common internet troll. The real problem is the PLA Navy, Chinese Coast Guard, and Maritime Militia's coercive behavior in the West Philippine Sea — water cannoning innocent fisherfolk, hindering freedom of navigation in our own EEZ, and ramming our vessels,” pagdidin niya.
Giit naman ng senador, mananatili raw silang bukas para makipagkooperasyon ngunit kailangan daw munang ipakita ng China ang pagtigil sa panghaharas sa mga vessels ng Pilipinas sa WPS.
“We are always open to cooperation, exchange, and the peaceful resolution of disputes. However, the Chinese government in Beijing must first demonstrate good faith by ceasing its harassment of our vessels in the West Philippine Sea,” saad niya.
Nagawa ring manawagan ni Hontiveros sa mga Pilipino na manatiling maging mapagmatyag sa umano’y mga peke at mapanlinlang na naratibo sa social media.
“Panawagan ko din muli sa mga Pilipino na maging mapagmatyag sa mga peke at mapanlinlang na naratibo. The Chinese government’s propaganda, especially on social media, is as brazen as its harassment in our waters.”
“Huwag nating pahintulutan ang mga dayuhang elemento na patuloy na maghasik ng pagkakawatak-watak sa ating bansa,” ‘ika niya.
“Gong xi fa cai! Kung hei fat choi! And to everyone who will be celebrating, Happy Chinese Lunar New Year. Cheers to prosperity and peace, grounded in mutual respect and adherence to international law,” pagtatapos pa niya.
Samantala, wala pa namang bagong inilalabas na pahayag ang Chinese Embassy sa kanilang Facebook page kaugnay rito.
