Inihayag ni Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III na pinaghahandaan na niya ang posibilidad ng muling pag-usad ng impeachment complaints laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

Sa panayam sa kaniya ng media, iginiit ni Sotto na mayroon daw siyang mga kaibigang mula sa Court of Appeals at Court of Tax Appeals na nagpapayo sa kaniya sa pagiging presiding officer.

"I am being briefed by some justices friends because I would want to concentrate on how to be the presiding officer of an impeachment court pagdating sa rules of evidence at saka sa rules on criminal procedures," ani Sotto.

Saad pa niya, "'Yan ang pinakamahalaga sa impeachment eh. Kailangan maliwanag ang pananaw mo sa rules of evidence dahil maraming magagaling na abugadong nagpapasa ng kung anu-ano sa'yo at sa court."

Matatandaang noong Lunes, Pebrero 2, magkasunod na naghain ng impeachment complaints ang Makabayan Bloc at civil society kung saan kabilang sa kanilang mga reklamo laban kay VP Sara ay ang betrayal of public funds, culpable violations of the Constitution, graft and corruption, bribery at iba pa.

Kaugnay nito, nagbigay din ng payo si Sotto para naman sa kaniyang mga kapuwa senador.

"As a senator, you must be aware of, whether you're a lawyer or not, you must be aware of what is acceptable in the rules of evidence," anang Senate President.

Pahabol pa niya, "Kaya kahit regular senator ka lang, you must prepre in case there is an article of impeachment that reaches us."

Nitong Biyernes, Pebrero 6 nang kumpirmahin ni House Secretary General Cheloy Garafil na nai-transmit niya na kay House Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy ang dalawang impeachment complaints laban kay VP Sara.
