Timbog ang 14 na suspek sa panggagahasa at pang-aabuso, sa ikinasang operasyon ng mga awtoridad sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa kamakailan.
Sa ulat na ibinahagi ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) nitong Lunes, Enero 19, isinagawa raw ang mga aprehensyon sa bisa ng warrants of arrest para sa kasong Rape, Statutory Rape, Sexual Assault, Acts of Lasciviousness, at Violation of Section 5 (Child Prostitution and Other Sexual Abuse) ng Republic Act (RA) 7610.
Base pa sa inilatag na impormasyon ng awtoridad, pito sa mga nahuli ay nagmula sa Luzon, tatlo ay nanggaling sa Visayas, at apat naman sa Mindanao—na pawang puro kalalakihan.
Ayon pa sa naturang ulat, pito sa mga nasakoteng suspek ay nakatala bilang Regional Level Most Wanted Persons sa Cagayan Valley Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Eastern Visayas at Northern Mindanao; lima ay provincial level fugitives ng Antique, Davao Oriental, Leyte, at Sarangani; samantalang ang dalawa ay wanted persons mula sa lungsod ng Maynila at Davao.
Giit ng CIDG, ang mga naturang operasyong ikinasa ay tanda ng kanilang “commitment” sa pagprotekta sa komunidad—partikular na ang mga kababaihan at kabataan.

Anila pa, “It disallowed the fourteen accused from roaming freely in the community, like predators waiting for their preys. The arrests, significantly helped the fourteen victims and families attain the justice they deserved.”
“The CIDG assures the public that the Unit is steadfast and unrelenting in accounting and capturing wanted persons and fugitives, especially alleged rapists and sexual abusers nationwide,” pagtatapos nila.
