Kinomendahan ng National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) ang mga prodyuser, filmmaker, at creative team na nasa likod ng tagumpay ng pelikulang “I’mPerfect.”
Kaugnay ito sa makasaysayang pagkilala kay Krystel Go bilang “Best Actress in a Leading Role Award” at ang “Best Picture Award” ng naturang pelikula, sa ginanap na Gabi ng Parangal ng Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025 noong Sabado, Disyembre 27.

“The NCDA commends the filmmakers, producers, and creative team behind I’mPerfect for their commitment to inclusive, respectful, and empowering storytelling,” saad ng NCDA sa kanilang social media post nitong Linggo, Disyembre 28.
“We call on the Philippine film and creative industries to sustain this momentum by creating more opportunities for persons with disabilities as lead actors, storytellers, and creators. The Best Actress and Best Picture wins of I’mPerfect send a clear and hopeful message: Philippine cinema is on the right track towards inclusion, dignity, and equal recognition for all,” dagdag pa nila.
Ayon pa sa NCDA, ang pagkapanalo raw ni Krystel at ng buong I’mPerfect team ay isang patunay na ang “disability-inclusive storytelling” ay hindi lamang socially relevant, kung hindi “artistically outstanding” din.
“This milestone breaks long-standing stereotypes and clearly demonstrates that a person with disability can indeed be a Best Actress recognized for talent, discipline, and exceptional craft,” anila pa. “The NCDA underscores that these recognitions are aligned with Republic Act No. 7277, or the Magna Carta for Persons with Disabilities, as amended by Republic Act No. 9442, which upholds the rights of persons with disabilities to equal opportunity, non-discrimination, and full participation in cultural and social life.”
“These laws mandate the removal of attitudinal barriers and call for the recognition of the abilities, contributions, and potential of persons with disabilities in all sectors, including film and media,” saad pa ng NCDA.
