Nangako si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na mananatili ang commitment ng administrasyon na magbuo ng moderno at propesyonal na sandatahang lakas, at mas palalimin pa ang relasyon ng Pilipinas sa mga kaalyansa nito.
Ibinahagi ni PBBM ang pangakong ito sa ginanap na Major Services Officer Candidate Course Joint Graduation Ceremony sa Philippine Air Force Gymnasium, Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base sa Pasay City, nitong Lunes, Disyembre 1.
“As your Commander-in-Chief, I promise that this government remains committed to building a modern and professional armed force. We continue to invest in radar systems, ships, aircraft, [and] facilities that will strengthen our deterrence and improve disaster response,” saad ni PBBM.
“We also deepen our partnerships with other countries such as Japan, the United States, Australia, as well as other allies, to better protect our shared peace and our stability,” pagpapatuloy niya.
Binigyan niya rin ng paalala ang mga nagsipagtapos hinggil sa kanilang misyon at responsibilidad bilang second lieutenants at ensigns ng sandatahang lakas.
“Wherever you may be assigned—on land, at sea, in the air—remember that your mission will go beyond completing missions. Ultimately, it will be all about maintaining peace and building a nation,” ani PBBM.
“There will come a time when you rescue families during floods and earthquakes, secure elections, support government programs that bring service to the most far-flung areas of our country,” dagdag pa niya.
“There will be moments when your integrity will be tested. Corruption and dishonesty can manifest in many forms, kaya piliin n’yo lagi ang tama, piliin n’yo ang bayan, piliin n’yo ang katapatan at ang kapayapaan,” pagtatapos niya.
Kaugnay nito, iginiit din ng Pangulo sa parehong seremonya ang pagprotekta sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) at sa soberanya ng Pilipinas.
“Alam kong mabigat ang panahon ngayon. The world is changing fast. These changes can create new risks for our country. As such, we must continue to defend our rights in the West Philippine Sea (WPS)—where our fishermen and our soldiers stand their ground amidst growing challenges. We will stay vigilant against any attempt to weaken our sovereignty or test our resolve,” anang pangulo.
