Ipagpapaliban muna ng Department of Transportation (DOTr), kasama ang mga kaugnay nitong ahensya, ang kanilang agency-wide Year-end Performance Assessment.
Kaugnay ito sa mga sunod-sunod na kalamidad at isyung kinakaharap umano ng bansa.
Sa ibinahaging Facebook post ng DOTr nitong Miyerkules, Nobyembre 5, makikita ang isang memorandum na inisyu noon pang Oktubre 30, na inaabiso ni DOTr Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez ang pagpapaliban ng mga naturang selebrasyon.
“While such occasions indeed foster morale and unity, these likewise entail the use of government funds and the time and effort of the offices involved in the preparation. It is, therefore, incumbent to ensure that any activity undertaken reflects judicious use of public resources and strict adherence to established government rules and regulations,” saad ni Acting Sec. Lopez sa memorandum.
“In recent months, many fellow Filipinos from several regions of the country have been severely affected by natural calamities, including earthquakes, typhoons, floods, and volcanic eruptions,” dagdag pa niya.
“Moreover, with ongoing investigations and heightened public scrutiny concerning the use of government funds, it is imperative that the Department remain sensitive to the broader context in which we serve,” pagpapatuloy pa niya.

Sa kabila ng abisong ito ng kalihim, ang pagsasagawa raw ng “modest” at simpleng pagsasalo sa opisina o unit ay papayagan, basta’t hindi raw ito magreresulta ng “disruption” sa kahit anong regular na operasyon ng ahensya.
