Nasa kustodiya na ng mga awtoridad ang district engineer mula sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) na nagtangka umanong manuhol kay Batangas 1st District Rep. Leandro Leviste.
Ayon sa police report, sinubukan umanong suhulan ng suspek si Leviste ng tinatayang P3,126,900 milyon hinggil sa anomalya ng DPWH projects sa unang distrito ng Batangas.
Batay pa sa mga ulat, agad na sumangguni si Levista sa mga awtoridad matapos ang insidente ng panunuhol na agad namang nauwi sa pagkakaaresto sa suspek.
Narekober sa suspek ang pera na pinaghihinalaang ginamit ng suspek na panunuhol sa mambabatas.

Nahaharap siya sa mga kasong paglabag sa corruption of public officials sa ilalim ng Revised Penal Code, Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act sa Batangas Provincial Prosecutors Office.
Samantala, sa hiwalay na pahayag na inilabas mni Leviste nitong Lunes, Agosto 25. 2025, iginiit niyang hindi umano dapat kinukunsinti ang anumang uri ng korapsyon sa DPWH.
"We should not tolerate any corruption in DPWH. We should demand projects at better quality and lower cost, and obligate contractors to correct any deficiencies immediately without additional cost to the government. Beyond this case, we will push for broader reforms to address systemic problems of DPWH," ani Leviste.
