Lumahok ang Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) sa pagsisimula ng inter-agency exercise "Alalayan" 2023 sa Manila Bay nitong Biyernes, Agosto 11.

Ayon kay National Coast Watch Center (NCWC) Director, PCG-Maritime Security Law Enforcement Commander Vice Admiral Roy Echeverria, layunin ng pagsasanay na masubukan ang protocol at kakayahan ng NCWC at mga support agency nito na matukoy at maharang ang maritime threats sa karagatang sakop ng Pilipinas.

Kabilang sa maritime exercise scenario ang illegal drug trafficking, goods smuggling, human trafficking, at responding to fire at sea.

Bukod sa 97-meter multi-role response vessel na BRP Melchora Aquino (MRRV-9702), sumali rin sa pagsasanay ang BRP Malapascua, BRP Boracay, isang Coast Guard Aviation Force (CGAF) helicopter,

Nakibahagi rin sa inter-agency exercise ang Philippine Navy, Philippine National Police-Maritime Group, Bureau of Quarantine, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Command Center, AFP Intelligence Service, Bureau of Immigration, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Bureau of Customs, at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
