Gustong gawing spokesperson ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang Kapamilya actress na si Ria Atayde.

Sa press briefing noong Biyernes, Mayo 19, sinabi ni MMDA Chairman Don Artes na personal niyang pinili ang aktres at isinumite na rin niya ang aplikasyon nito.

"Ipersonally recruited Ms. Ria Ataye who graciously agreed. I submitted theapplication, endorsement to Malacañang for Ms. Atayde to be the spokesperson ofthe MMDA," saad ni Artes.

Naniniwala rin ang MMDA chairman na magiging great asset si Atayde sa ahensya.

"Asqualifications are concerned, she's a communications graduate from La Salle. Ithink her work experience is suited for the spokesperson position. And herbeing a celebrity would be beneficial to the agency as far as informationdissemination is concerned," dagdag pa niya.

Si Ria ay kapatid na babae ng actor-congressman na si Arjo, parehong anak ng batikang aktres na si Sylvia Sanchez at businessman na si Art Atayde.
