Ipinagbabawal ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ang pagkain ng shellfish sa apat na lalawigan sa bansa matapos maapektuhan ng red tide.

Sa abiso ng BFAR, nakitaan ng toxic red tide o paralytic shellfish poison (PSP) ang baybayin ng Dauis at Tagbilaran sa Bohol, San Pedro Bay sa Samar, Dumanquillas Bay sa Zamboanga del Sur at Lianga Bay sa Surigao del Sur.

"All types of shellfish and Acetes sp. or alamang gathered from the areas shown above are NOT SAFE for human consumption," anang BFAR.

"However, fish,squids, shrimps, and crabs are safe to be eaten as long as these are fresh, washed thoroughly, and their internal organs such as gills and intestines are removed prior to cooking, dagdagpa ng ahensya.
