Tumanggap na ng fuel subsidy ang karamihang magsasaka at mangingisda sa gitna ng tumataas na presyo ng produktong petrolyo sa bansa dulot ng giyera sa pagitan ng Ukraine at Russia.
"It is not only the transport sector who are affected, but also the farmers and fishermen who transport their goods in the market on a daily basis. More expenses mean less income to bring to their families. And we support the initiative of the Department of Agriculture (DA) for giving fuel subsidy to farmers and fishermen,” ayon kay dating Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Director Asis Perez sa isang virtual press briefing.
Nitong Marso 7, nagpalabas ng memorandum ang DA kaugnay ng implementasyon ng programang pinondohan ng ₱500 milyon upang mapakinabangan ng mga magsasaka at mangingisda.
Ang nasabing fuel discount ay gagamitin sa mga makinarya sa bukid, gayundin sa bangkang de-motor ng mga mangingisda.
