Iminungkahi ng isang eksperto laban sa coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) na pababain muna ang positivity rate sa Pilipinas bago isailalim sa Alert Level 1 ang Metro Manila.
Paliwanag ni Prof. Jomar Rabajante, miyembro ng University of the Philippines (UP) COVID-19 Pandemic Response Team (PRT), nasa 5.6 porsyento pa ang positivity rate sa bansa kaya kinakailangan pa itong pababain.
Ito aniya ang dahilan kung bakit hindi pa bumababa sa 1,000 ang naitatalang COVID-19 cases sa Pilipinas."Makikita natin more than 5% ang positivity rate. Ang ibig sabihin nito marami pa ring people around na nahahawaan ng COVID. If you’re going to look at hospitalizations, more than a thousand pa rin 'yung nasa ICU. Medyo mahirap pa for now na bababa to less than a thousand. Pero baka in the next few weeks makita natin ito," sabi ni Rabajante sa isang television interview.
Sinabi naman ni Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Romando Artes na isinasapinal na ang patakaran bago ianunsyo ang desisyon sa bagong alert level sa weekend.

"Decisions were made but as the usual protocol, it will be Secretary Karlo Nograles who will announce the decision probably by Saturday or Sunday. I think we already qualified despite the fact there were some adjustment in the metrics to Alert Level 1," banggit ng opisyal.
Dapat din aniyang maging mahigpit ang monitoring kung luluwagan na ang COVID-19 alert level status.
