Ito ang kinumpirma ng kanyang pamangkin na si Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Tito Bob. He led an exemplary and full life in both the private and public sector.Tito Bob was very supportive of my career in public service. I appreciate how always cheered me on in everything. Our family will dearly miss him," pahayag pa ni Romulo-Puyat.
Nagsilbing kalihim ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) si Romulo noong 1992. Bago pa man ito magtrabaho sa pamahalaan, 25 taon muna itong nagtrabaho sa IBM Corporation.
