ALBAY - Napatay ang isang pulis matapos umanong makipagbarilan sa mga kabaro nito sa ikinasang operasyon laban sa iligal na mga baril sa Daraga, nitong Biyernes ng umaga.
Sa police report, nakilala ang nasawi na siCorporal Joel Tualla, aktibong miyembro ng Polangui Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Ang operasyon ay isinagawa ng mga tauhan ngRegional Special Operations Unit ng Police Regional Office 5 (RSOU5), Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 5 (RDEU5), Philippine National Police-Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) Southern Luzon Bravo, Daraga Municipal Police Station at Albay Provincial Police Office saPurok 4, Bgy. Bañag, dakong 11:05 ng umaga.
“Upon arrival at said place, the operatives strategically positioned themselves together with police poseurbuyer. Moments later, the suspect arrived then showed to the poseur buyer a cal. 9mm KG9sub-machinegun and .45 caliber pistol placed inside his brown body bag. The poseur buyer in turn handed over the payment to the suspect using 1-piece genuine P1,000 bill dusted marked money with boodle money in supposed amount of P44,000.00. At that juncture, the poseur buyer made the pre-arranged signal for the other operatives to rush and effect the arrest. However, the subject person noticed that the buyer is a police officer, he then immediately drew his gun and fired upon the police operatives," ayon sa report.

Tumimbuwang ang suspek nang makipagbarilan sa kanya ang mga pulis na kasama sa operasyon.
Narekober sa lugar ang isang Cal. 9mm KG-9 na may dalawang magazine, isang Cal. 45 pistol na may magazine, at isang service firearm nito na 9mm pistol .
Iniimbestigahan pa ng mga awtoridad ang kaso.
