Kinumpirma ng anak ni Sean, si Jason Connery sa BBC na mapayapang pumanaw ang kanyang ama habang natutulog sa tahanan nito sa Nassau, Bahamas, “[having been] unwell for some time.”
“We are all working at understanding this huge event as it only happened so recently,” dagdag pa ito, na inilarawan ang pagpanaw ng ama bilang “a sad loss for all people around the world who enjoyed the wonderful gift he had as an actor.”
