Aprub na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang panukalang P4.506 trillion national budget para sa taong 2021.
Ito ang inianunsyo ng Department of Budget and Management, sa inilabas na statement nitong Hulyo 30 sa pagpupulong ng Development Budget Coordination Committee.
Ayon sa DBM, layunin ng nabanggit na pondo na mapanatili ang mga hakbang na ipinatutupad sa pagtugon sa epekto ng COVID-19 pandemic.
“The proposed fiscal year (FY) 2021 budget aims to sustain government efforts towards effectively responding to the COVID-19 pandemic by focusing government spending on improving our healthcare systems, ensuring food security, increasing investments in public and digital infrastructure, and helping communities cope and prevail in these trying times, hence, the theme ‘Reset, Rebound and Recover: Investing for resiliency and sustainability,” pahayag ng DBM.

Ang P4.506 trillion proposed 2021 budget ay 9.9 percent na mas mataas kung ikumpara sa 2020 P4.1 trillion national budget, na katumbas ng 21.9 percent ng Gross Domestic Product.
