PANGUNGUNAHAN ni Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Chairperson Liza Diño-Seguerra ang official launch ng year-long centennial celebration ng pelikulang Pilipino sa New Frontier Theater bukas.

Tatawaging Sine Sandaan: Celebrating theLuminaries of Philippine Cinema’s 100 Years, isasara sa trapik ang kalsada sa harapan ng New Frontier na bibihisan ng Art Deco Cinemas bilang pagbibigay-pugay sa stand-alone theaters noong Golden Age ng pelikulang Pilipino.

May pagkakataon ang millennials, na cinema complex sa malls na ang namulatan, na makabalik sa panahon ng mga naunang sinehan. Magsisilbi rin itong pagbabalik-tanaw ng mga henerasyon na nakaranas pang manood sa stand-alone cinema houses.

Tiniyak ng FDCP chairperson na ikatutuwa ng dadalong honorees, unsung heroes, living legends, at icons ng pelikulang Pilipino ang visual theme na Art Deco Cinemas ng Sine Sandaan.

Sumikat noong 1930s at 1950s ang intricate structure ng mga sinehan na naging simbolo at mahalagang bahagi ng local movie industry at ng kulturang Pilipino.Ipinagmamalaki ng pamunuan ng FDCP ang pagpayag ng Araneta Center na muling maging sentro ng pagdiriwang ng Sine Sandaan ang New Frontier Theater.

Ang naturang cinema house ang kinilalang pinakamalaking sinehan sa Asya nang itayo noong 1965 at naging classic entertainment landmark simula noon sa Cubao, Quezon City.

Naging tahanan ang New Frontier ng lokal at Hollywood movies at maging ng live acts, kaya ito ang perfect venue para sa pagbubukas ng Sine Sandaan.Ita-transform ng Big Bulb, Inc. ang theater bilang Art Deco Cinema na punumpuno ng Art Deco aesthetics at mga elemento ng old cinema.

Inaasahan ang pagdating at pagrampa sa red carpet ng inimbitahang mahigit sa 300 luminaries at icons ng Philippine Cinema. Magiging highlight ng pagdiriwang ang performances ng biggest names sa music industry.

Ang Sine Sandaan: Celebrating the Luminaries of Philippine Cinema’s 100 Years ay co-presented ng CMB Film Services at ABS-CBN at sinusuportahan ng Department of Tourism (DOT), Araneta Group, at Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines (FDAP).

Pagkatapos ng official launch ng Sine Sandaan, magaganap ang Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) 2019, isang week-long exclusive screening ng Filipino genre films.

Ang PPP 2019 ay co-presented ng Frontrow International sa pakikipagtulungan sa Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP) at CMB Film Services at major sponsors na Fire and Ice Productions, ThinkBIT Solutions, Toronto Film School at Yorkville University, Bicol Isarog Transport System, Inc., at Novotel Manila.
