Hinimok ng Philippine National Police ang Kongreso na pagkalooban ang mga government security agencies ng mga modernong intelligence equipment, kaugnay na rin ng hindi nawawalang banta ng terorismo sa bansa.
Sinabi ni PNP chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde na ang pagkakakumpirma na Pilipino ang isa sa dalawang suicide bombers na umatake sa kampo ng militar sa Sulu kamakailan ay isang patunay na lumalala ang banta ng terorismo sa Pilipinas.
“This will definitely change the playing field. There was already an incident (ng Pinoy na suicide bomber) and we cannot discount the possibility that there could be next,” ani Albayalde.

“That's why we have to address this radicalization process,” aniya pa.
Batay sa DNA testing sa narekober na bahagi ng katawan ng isa sa dalawang suicide bombers, kinilala ang suspek na si Norman Lacusa, taga-Sulu.
Hindi pa natutukoy ng mga awtoridad ang pagkakakilanlan ng ikalawang suicide bomber, dahil walang makuhang DNA samples na ikukumpara sa samples na nakuha sa ilang bahagi ng katawan nito.
Matatandaang tatlong sundalo at tatlong sibilyan ang nasawi sa nasabing insidente noong nakaraang buwan.
“Our lawmakers should appreciate the fact that it is important that we have intelligence technical equipment,” ani Albayalde.
“I have been telling that to Congress that we really have to prepare for this. I think no less than the President (Rodrigo Duterte) said that there are dangerous times ahead it's because he foresees these kinds of global terrorism will not end in few years time.
“It will still evolve so we really need to face this head on. We need to face this with improved strategies and equipment and also the collaboration and cooperation with our counterparts,” dagdag pa ng PNP Chief.
