Ito ang mariing depensa ni Karen Tanchanco-Caballero, deputy secretary-general ng Philippine Olympic Committee hingil sa petisyon ng POC Board na patalsikin siya sa puwesto.
Tinaguriang “Dragon Lady” sa Philippine sports, nakapagtataka na isinantabi niya ang isyu at mas binigyang pansin ang responsibilidad para sa paghahanda at masigurong tagumpay ang hosting ng bansa sa gaganaping Southeast Asian Games.

“For now, there is so much work to do with the Southeast Asian Games only six months away,” pahayag ni Caballero sa kanyang pagdalo sa “Usapang Sports” ng Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) nitong Huwebes sa National Press Club sa Intramuros.
Iginiit din ni Tanchangco-Caballero, pangulo rin ng Sepak Takraw Federation, na hindi siya nababahala sa naturang aksiyon ng kapwa POC officials bunsod ng katotohanan na tangan niya ang pagtitiwala ni POC president Ricky Vargas.
“As far as POC president Vargas is concerned, it’s business as usual. Madaming trabahong dapat harapin kaya trabaho muna kami. That’s the marching order given to me,” ayon kay Tanchangco-Caballero sa lingguhang sports forum na itinataguyod ng Philippine Sports Commission, National Press Club, PAGCOR, Community Basketball Association at HG Guyabano Tea Leaf Drinks.
“National pride ang nakataya dito sa SEA Games. Mr. Vargas and people close to him would rather work to ensure the success of the SEA Games. Personally, I will continue my work as official of the POC and the PHISGOC,” aniya.
“Sabi nga, trabaho lang. Walang personalan.”
Nagbigay naman ng kasiguruhan ang POC representative na makukumpleto ang lahat ng venues na gagamitin sa SEA Games sa Agosto.
“These are exciting times in our hosting of the SEA Games,” aniya/
“Only recently, we have concluded meetings with competition and venues managers . We are currently fine tuning the technical requirements in each sports”
Hinamon din niya ang mga kabataan na maging bahagi ng SEA Games na nakatakda sa Nobyembre 27 hanggang Dec. 12.
“In fact, we are encouraging the Filipino youth to take part in the SEAG. Last month, we launched volunteer applications where the youth can help in our hosting.”
“Dave Carter, the director for venues, reported that more than 90 percent of the venues are ready. The BCDA is also confident that they can will deliver ahead of the schedule.”
