NAKALIKOM si Miss Universe Catriona Gray ng US$6,000 (halos P300,000) para sa mga inabusong batang Pilipino sa kanyang short-noticed fund-raising event sa Canada kamakailan.
Pinasalamatan ni Catriona ang lahat ng sumuporta sa charity event ng Bantay Bata 163, ang organisasyon na nagbibigay ng social services sa mga bata sa Pilipinas, gaya ng help hotline, medical assistance, feeding programs, at educational scholarships.

Dagdag pa niya, “Big thank you to the members of @pidc.toronto who pulled together this event on such short notice! The total amount of $6000 raised from this intimate dinner will go towards serving and protecting our countries children.”
Sa website nito, ang Bantay Bata 163 ang sinasabing modelo ng Asia para sa child care services. Ito ay toll-free hotline 1-6-3 at ito pa rin sa kasalukuyan ang online helpline bansa, na para sa mga abusadong bata na humihingi ng tulong.
Sa ika-22 taon nito ngayong taon, ibinahagi ng Bantay Bata 163 ay nakaresponde na sila sa halos 400, 000 report simula noong 1997- 2015.
Nakapag-abot na rin ito ng medical assistance sa mahigit 56, 000 pasyente sa mga partner hospital nito. Nakikipagtulungan naman ang mga Bantay Edukasyon scholar, na mga nasa kolehiyo o nakapagtapos na, sa mga aktibidad at misyon ng Bantay Bata 163.

Sabi niya: “It is this same love that we hope to impart to more children as we strive to improve our services to adapt to an ever-changing landscape of abuse and exploitation.”
