INILUNSAD ng Philippine Rugby Federation ang 2019 domestic 15s season nitong Sabado sa Southern Plains, Calamba.
Ang JML Premiership Shield ay tinampukan ng walong koponan mula sa Luzon at hinati batay sa kanilang standings sa nakalipas na taon.
Tinanghal na top seed ang Eagles RFC sa Pool A kasama ang HMR Ibons, Clark Jets at Manila Carabaos. Nangunguna naman sa Pool B ang Manila Nomads kasama ang Santos Knight Frank Mavericks, Albay Bulkans at Makati Chiefs.
Tampok ang matitikas na miyembro ng national player sa mga koponan kabilang sina Joe Palabay Dawson, Jonel Madrona, Lito Ramirez, Jeremy Hernandez, Nick Jones, Edlen Hernandez, Ian Pausanos, Reymarc Bustillo, Steven Near, David Feeney, Timothy Bweheni, Jovic Paypon at Ric Bellen.
“This year will be a first for the PRFU, all eight Luzon based teams in one division. It’s going to be exciting to see each week. Teams will be seeded and ranked accordingly by the end of the regular season and it will break off to a Top 4 and bottom 4 for the playoffs. Only one team will be crowned Premiership champions,” pahayag ni Jovan Masalunga.
Ang 15s domestic season ay may matatag na kasaysayan sa nakalipas na 15 taon mula nang simulan ng Nomads Rugby Club. Nitong 2019, nakabuo ang Nomads ng tatlong koponan.
“Nomads Rugby Club has been around for decades, this week they not only continue their legacy but also add to it with the launch of their first ever 15s women’s team. It will be a special occasion for such an iconic club team in the Philippines,” sambit ni Jake Letts, General Manager ng PRFU.
