Pinag-aaralan pa ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang usapin sa posibleng pagpapalawig ng martial law sa Mindanao.
Ito ay nang ihayag ni AFP Chief of Staff General Carlito Galvez, Jr. na bibisita sila sa Western Mindanao at Eastern Mindanao para sa kanilang assessment period.
"Sa ngayon (right now) ongoing assessment natin (our assessment is ongoing). We will visit Western Mindanao and Eastern Mindanao in the next few weeks," sabi niya.
"Prematurely, mahirap tayong mag-ano ng recommendation.
But I'm so happy that Senator (Win) Gatchalian, the PNP and also even the religious are recommending for the extension of martial law," dugtong niya.
Gumaan din umano ang kanyang kalooban nang magpahayag ng suporta ang Philippine National Police at iba pang sektor sa lipunan sa isinusulong na pagpapalawig ng batas militar sa rehiyon.
"I... we are very happy considering that it means that our soldiers are very professional. We are also very happy that our stakeholders is satisfied that we implementing martial law to the fullest of our capability as a professional armed forces," ayon sa opisyal.
"Ang nakita namin in many areas it’s still practical particularly that we will be having the plebiscite in January and also, we have also the coming elections. As you can see, as you can have the records. we have the most peaceful barangay elections because of the martial law and even in Marawi, first time that there is no failure of elections (there)," anito.
