Philippine Army, overall champion sa Int’l Dragon Boat Festival

NANGIBABAW ang Philippine Army Dragon Boat sa tatlong event ng katatapos na 2018 ARA Waterways International Dragon Boat Festival sa Incheon, South Korea.

Ayon kay Army Spokesman Lt. Col. Louie Villanueva, nakamit ng Army paddlers ang gintong medalya sa 200, 500 at 2000 meters mixed event para tanghaling over-all champion.

Nagwagi rin ang Army sa side event na tug of war.

Ang 5th Minister of Oceans and Fisheries’ Cup ARA Waterway International Dragon Boat Festival 2018 ay inorganisa ng Korean Dragon Boat Association, ayon kay Villanueva.

Kabuuang 18 koponan mula sa bansang Russia, Singapore, Qatar, Taiwan, Hongkong, Malaysia at Philippines ang sumabak sa torneo.

Pinangansiwaan ni Lt. Col. Raymond Dante P. Lachica, Director of Special Service Unit, Philippine Army, ang koponan bilang head of the delegation.

Ikinalugod ni Lachica ang matikas na performance ng Armymen, sa kabila ng maiksing panahon nang pagsasanay.

Binubuo ang Army delegation ng anim na lalaki at limang babae na pawang nakibahagi sa matagumpay na kampanya ng Philippine Team sa nakalipas na International Dragon Boat Federation at World Dragon Boat Championship na ginanap sa Italy at Australia, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

“The Philippine Army under the leadership of Lieutenant General Rolando Joselito D. Bautista is very proud for the impressive performance of the team,” pahayag ni Villanueva.

“The Commanding General said that, “such act is a manifestation that indeed, our soldiers are transforming and seriously taking all things just to prove to the world that we are really world class,” aniya.
