Inanunsiyo kahapon ni PBA Chairman Ricky Vargas ang pagkakahirang sa dating Officer in charge bilang kapalit nang nagbitiw na si Chito Narvasa.

“The highlight of our discussion is the appointment of our commissioner, the permanent commissioner of the PBA,” wika ni Vargas .

“He’s given a term of three years, concurrently he will also be the media director of the PBA — a job he has handled for many, many years.”

Si Marcial ang magsisilbing ika -10 commissioner ng 43-taong liga.

“We are happy for Willie, we wish him well. We are happy for the PBA. It was an appointment without any objections. The board gave the go-signal without any objections,” ayon kay Vargas.

“As you know, the PBA board has gone through a very difficult time before the opening of this season, and we were looking for somebody who can put it together and help us heal, since there will be a lot of changes as we move along.”
