Ginawa lang ba iyon upang ikondisyon ang utak ng publiko?
Ito ang palagay ng kampo ni Vice President Leni Robredo, na nagsabing hindi dapat seryosohin ang pahayag ni House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez na plano nitong magsampa ng impeachment complaint laban sa Bise Presidente.
“We think that the statement of speaker Alvarez is utterly irresponsible as he himself mentioned that he is still looking into the matter and he will still have to consult his legal team,” sabi ng spokesperson ni Leni na si Georgina Hernandez sa interview sa telebisyon.
“What he is trying to share to the public, which is quite irresponsible for a public servant of his stature,” sabi niya.

Itinuturing ni Hernandez na ang planong impeachment ay “empty threats” mula sa house speaker, na aniya, “(is) trying to the bring the credibility of the Vice President down.”
Binigyang-diin ni Hernandez na ang public statements ni Alvarez ay walang “sufficient basis” at “purely speculation.”
Sa pagtatanggol sa Bise Presidente, ipinagkibit-balikat din ni Hernandez ang mga suhestiyon na ang videotaped message na ipinadala sa United Nations ay betrayal of public of trust at may intensiyon si Robredo na siraan ang bansa sa international community.
Sa pamamagitan ng video message sa meeting ng UN sa Vienna hinggil sa extrajudicial killings, inilahad ni Robredo sa international community ang maraming pagkamatay at paglabag sa mga kapatang pantao sa kampanya kontra droga ng administrasyon.
Sinabi ni Robredo sa kanyang mensahe sa UN na nagiging “hopeless and helpless” ang mga Pilipino sa madugong giyera ni Presidente Duterte laban sa droga.
Dahil dito, pinagbintangan ni Alvarez, kabilang ang Malacañang, na si Robredo ang nasa likod ng impeachment complaint na isinampa ni Magdalo Party-list Rep. Gary Alejano laban kay Duterte.
Sinasabi rin nila na ang impeachment case ay “orchestrated effort” at bahagi ng destabilization plot upang mapatalsik ang chief executive.
Sinabi ng Bise Presidente na hindi siya sangkot sa pagsasampa ng impeachment case laban kay Duterte, at sinabing ang pagkakasabay ng kanyang videotaped message sa United Nations ay nagkataon lamang.
“In the impeachment complaint filed by Magdalo, they themselves said I am not part in the filing (of case against Duterte),” sinabi ni Robredo sa isang panayam sa Naga City, na ang transcript ay ipinadala sa Manila-based reporters.
Ipinaliwanag ni Leni na ang kanyang videotaped message para sa UN ay noong Pebrero pa ginawa.
“It just happened that it is only now the video will be used in a conference this March, but it was done a long time ago. I don’t know if at that time they are already thinking of the impeachment complaint (of Magdalo) because I am not part of the group,” sabi niya.
Nang hingan ng reaksiyon hinggil sa planong pagsasampa ng impeachment case laban sa kanya, sinabi ng dating housing chief na dapat itanong kay Alvarez kung ano ang basehan nito.
“I have not heard what Speaker Alvarez said. I just read it in the social media. It is hard to comment since I do not know his basis. But several times our President repeated that he is sure I am not part of the destabilization plot,” ani Robredo.
Sa Manila, nasa 20 tagasuporta ni Duterte ang nag-rally sa harap ng Quezon City Reception House, ang opisina ni Robredo.
