ANG pagiging totoo ang pinakamahalaga para kay Miley Cyrus, at ang bagong Voice coach ay hindi naging fan ni Mariah Carey kailanman.
“I’ve never really been a fan, because it’s so much about Mariah Carey,” saad ni Cyrus sa cover story nito sa October issue. “That’s part of her shtick.”
Naniniwala ang Wrecking Ball singer, 23, na “can see right through” sa persona ni Carey. “That’s part of what makes her a gay icon,” patuloy ni Miley. “Like, it’s about Mimi! It’s about what she’s wearing, and it’s about her.”
Ipinagdiinan ni Miley na ang kanyang art “isn’t about me” kundi tungkol sa pagbabahagi niya ng kanyang kuwento. “It’s about someone being connected to what I’m saying,” dagdag niya.
Ngayong mentor na sa patok na singing competition show ng NBC, hinimok din ng singer ang mga kalahok na maging tunay at totoo – at galingan para matulungan ang kanilang mga career.
“I want to help these singers,” ani Cyrus. “[A producer says to me], ‘Shut the f— up! You’re at 20 minutes!’ I’m like, what are you going to do – kick out these two 16-year-olds from Arkansas when they’re still pitchy? If I’m here, I’m going to do it for real. I’m not acting; I’m not playing me.” (People.com)
