“As of now, I would say we have a very good lead. We are hoping in the next few days we will be able to identify, arrest and charge the person responsible,” sabi ni Ronald Aguto, hepe ng NBI Cybercrime Division.

“Basically, what the Comelec asked from NBI is to identify the hacker and eventually file a case against the hacker. As early as March 28, some of our agents already worked on the case,” ani Aguto.

“The Comelec is studying legal remedies against those who intruded on the Comelec website as well as those who are benefitting,” sabi ni Jimenez.

“Obviously, Comelec has to run after the people who actually did this. Once they are identified and apprehended, there will be legal action taken against them as well as those who have been taking advantage of what they did,” dagdag niya.

(Leslie Ann G. Aquino)
