MARAMING dapat ipagpasalamat si Marion Aunor sa taong nagdaan.

Hindi lahat ng baguhan ay kayang gawin ang body of works niya sa napakaikling panahong pananatili niya sa entertainment industry. Super talented naman kasi si Marion, kaya tambak ang assignments.

"It started when Star Magic signed me up again for another year. I had the biggest thrill of my life dahil naging madalas ang paggi-guest ko sa iba't ibang shows ng ABS-CBN. I got the exposure I needed not only as a singer but also as a composer.

"Tito Roxy (Liquigan, head of Star Records) encouraged me to compose more songs which they used as the background music of the teleserye Moon of Desire, which starred Meg Imperial, JC de Vera, and Ellen Adarna. At bago matapos ang taon, 'pina-record din sa Teen Queen na si Kathryn Bernardo ang na-compose kong You Don't Know Me na nag-trending worldwide.

"I also got excited when I learned that my Do Do Do composition was heard at the Belo Bride presscon for Marian Rivera at II Terrazo. Earlier, during Kathryn's grand debut, pinatugtog din ang Do Do Do ko.

"The year ended for me in a big concert sa 'Christmas Masaya' event at the Rizal Park, which was attended by almost a million people. Kahit tumigil ang back-up music ko nang kumakanta na ako, I didn't panic. Nagawa kong ituloy ang kanta ko. That was also the time I allowed myself to be kissed by some binatilyos from the cheering crowd, tuloy na-shock si Mom (Maribel 'Lala' Aunnor) at pinagsabihan akong baka akalain ng mga tao na ang landi-landi ko na. Natawa ako, kasi sa pisngi lang naman."

Marion was reminded that her mom was so mahinhin in her time as the most sikat young singer-actress among the Apat Na Sikat ka-Iove team si Arnold Gamboa, ganoon din ang love team nina Winnie Santos at Dondon Nakar. Kilala si Lala noon as 'mahinhing dalaginding.'

"As if that wasn't enough, napili ako na mag-host sa Awit Awards, which was held at the Resort's World with Gino and Josh Padilla," patuloy ni Marion.

"I must reveal now that it was my secret wish. To host a major showbiz event like my idols Pops Fernandez and Kris Aquino. It was a secret wish' coz baka akalain na masyado akong ambisyosa, eh, kai-start ko lang sa showbiz.

"I felt so grateful to PARI for trusting me the hosting break. I was told that it was televised for ABS and I got good reviews. That was my first time hosting a real big showbiz event and I had so much fun. Sana talaga, magkaroon pa ng ganu'ng opportunity in the near future.

"I am starting this year with a possible concert in Zamboanga, as a guest of The Voice finalist Paolo Oiniza in Feb. And a show for Assumption Antipolo also next month.

"Incidentally, sa Awit Awards Night nanalo din ako for Best New Recording Artist at nadagdagan ang ilang awards ko for being the third winner in Himig Handog last year, for singing my own composition, If You Ever Change Your Mind. I-add na rin po natin ang nomination ko sa Awit Awards ng Sex On Legs composition ko. Best Musical Arrangement for Do Do Do at Best Performance by a New Recording Artists for If You Ever Change Your Mind, again."

Bonggacious at tambak agad ang achievements ng mahusay na baguhang singer-composer.
