LINGAYEN, Pangasinan- Humigit-kumulang sa 400 special children ang lumahok sa katatapos na isang araw ng 2nd Division SPED Olympics na may temang “Awareness, Acceptance, Development of the Children with Special Needs to the Fullest”.

Ginanap ang torneo sa Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) kung saan ay inorganisa ito ng Pangasinan Divison 1 at sa pakikipagtulungan ng provincial government at Kiwanis Club of Progressive Pangasinan.

Sa kanyang talumpati sa pagbubukas ng Olympics, sinabi ni Board Member Nestor D. Reyes, iprinisinta si Gov. Amado T. Espino Jr., na isang napakahusay at pagbibigay kahalagahan ang pagsasagawa ng torneo para sa special children.

“The provincial government headed by our own good Governor has always been supportive of this endeavor because these special children need special attention for them to feel that they have a special place in this world,” dagdag pa nito.

Kasabay nito, hinikayat ni BM Reyes ang mga magulang at guro na sundan ang acronym na CARE na may kahulugan na “Cherish, Accept, Respect and Enjoy” upang tulungan ang mga bata na mamuhay ng normal.

Samantala, inihayag ni Bernadette B. Mangaoang, presidente ng Kiwanis Club of Progressive Pangasinan na ang SPED Olympics ay kinikilalang notable project para sa special children at nabigyan ng pagkakataon ang kanilang entry sa nalalapit na Centennial celebration sa Enero 15, 2015.
