Nakilala si Carlos ng publiko nang maupo siyang miyembro ng panel sa naging debate ng mga presidential candidates noong 2022, na isinagawa ng SMNI.

Mababasa sa post niya sa kaniyang verified Facebook account noong Biyernes, Pebrero 13, na kahit gaano raw kaganda ang pasilidad gaya ng air conditioned classroom, kung "bobo" ang guro, hindi rin daw magkakaroon ng pagkatuto ang mga mag-aaral.
