Sa liham na naka-address kay Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III at kay Majority Leader at Committee on Rules Chairman Ferdinand Alexander A. Marcos, iginiit nina Davao 1st district. Rep. Paolo Duterte, Davao 2nd. District Rep. Omar Duterte, Puwersa ng Pilipinong Pandagat Rep. Harold Duterte at Davao 3rd district Rep. Isidro Ungab, mariin nilang ipinahayag ang pagtutol sa nasabing kapalaran laban kay Barzaga.
“We, the undersigned, express our strong opposition to the reported extension of suspension being pushed against Rep. Kiko Barzaga. A handful of members of the House Ethics Committee should not supersede the will of the thousands of voters who elected him to represent the 4th District of Cavite,” ayon sa liham.
Binanggit din ng mga mambabatas na ang karapatan ni Barzaga sa malayang pagpapahayag ay protektado ng Konstitusyon at hindi dapat ituring na parusahan ang political speech, lalo na kung ito ay kritikal o hindi komportable para sa ilan.

“Rep. Barzaga’s right to free expression is constitutionally protected. Political speech, especially when it is critical, sharp, or uncomfortable is not a punishable offense in a democratic society,” saad pa sa dokumento.
Ayon pa sa liham, kung may sinumang naniniwalang sila ay napinsala o nadungisan ang pangalan, ang tamang forum umano ay ang korte at hindi ang House Ethics Committee.
Kung dadalhin sa plenaryo ang desisyon ukol sa pagpapalawig ng suspensyon, tiniyak ng mga lumagda sa liham na tututol sila at magrerehistro ng botong “No.”
“If this committee decision is brought to the plenary for approval, we strongly object and register a NO vote. Disciplinary powers must never be used to silence dissent or override the democratic choice of the people,” ayon sa liham.
Sa ngayon, wala pang pahayag ang House Ethics Committee kaugnay sa naturang liham.
