"Data further revealed that most major crime categories posted significant reductions, led by rape, which recorded the highest decrease at 20.68 percent-dropping from 203 cases in 2024 to 161 in 2025. This was followed by murder, which declined by 47.5 percent, from 80 to 42 incidents," pahayag ni Abad.

Dagdag pa ni Abad, "Theft cases decreased by 8.80%, from 420 to 383, while motorcycle carnapping dropped by 12.64%, from 87 to 76 incidents. Motor vehicle carnapping cases also went down by 40%, declining from 20 to 12, and robbery fell by 1.91%, from 157 to 154 cases.”

“It is clear from these numbers that our efforts are effective. This is the result of a stronger police presence, faster response times, and improved police-community relations, these were achieved through consistent implementation of crime prevention and law enforcement strategies on the ground,” ani Abad.

"The MPD assures the public that it will continue building on these gains and remains unwavering in its commitment to protect lives, uphold the law, and serving the Manileños with integrity and dedication," dagdag pa niya.
