Nagpaabot ng pasasalamat si Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sonny Angara sa pagpirma ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., sa General Appropriations Act (GAA) para sa Fiscal Year 2026 na naglaan ng ₱1.35 trilyon para sa sektor ng edukasyon.
Ayon sa inilabas na pahayag ng DepEd sa kanilang Facebook page nitong Lunes, Enero 5, mababasa ang ang pagpapaabot ni Angara ng pasasalamat kay PBBM dahil na rin sa pagpapatibay nito ng Republic Act (R.A.) No. 12314 para sa ₱6.739 trilyong national budget ngayong 2026.
“On behalf of the Department of Education (DepEd), I extend our warmest appreciation to President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. on the official enactment of the Fiscal Year 2026 National Budget amounting to Php 6.739 trillion,” pagsisimula ni Angara.

Ani Angara, isa raw ang sektor ng edukasyon sa may pinakamalaking bahagi sa national budget na aabot sa ₱1.35 trilyon.
“The education sector has received the largest share of the national budget amounting to Php 1.35 trillion, equivalent to 4.4 percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP). Particularly for DepEd, we will be allocated Php 1.015 trillion to ensure that quality education reaches every learner across the country,” aniya.
Pagpapatuloy ng senador, unang beses daw ito sa kasaysayan ng bansa na naglaan ng higit sa 4% ng GDP ng bansa para sa sektor ng edukasyon.
“For the first time in Philippine history, the nation has allocated more than 4 percent of its GDP to education, to ensure that quality education is delivered to every Filipino learner,” pagbibida niya.
Dagdag pa niya, “The DepEd family would also like to express our deepest gratitude to the members of Congress for their swift, thorough, and steadfast support for the education sector.”
Idiniin din ni Angara na edukasyon ang pangunahing tinututukan ng administrasyon at sisiguraduhin daw nilang mabibigyan ng dekalidad na edukasyon ang bawat pamilya at mga mag-aaral sa bansa.
“Education remains a top priority of this administration. Committed to transparency and accountability as foundations of good governance, we stand ready to turn this vision into reality, ensuring that every family and every Filipino learner can access quality education.
Thank you,” pagtatapos niya.
Kaugnay nito ang pormal na pagpirma ni PBBM sa General Appropriations Act (GAA) para sa Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 sa ginanap na seremonya sa Malacañang nito ring Lunes, Enero 5, 2026.
Dahil dito, opisyal nang naisabatas ang Republic Act (R.A.) No. 12314 kaugnay sa ₱6.793 trilyong national budget ng bansa para sa taong 2026.
