Nabahala ang women’s group na Gabriela hinggil sa mga umano’y birong bastos o “green jokes” sa mga babaeng housemates sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya.
Kaugnay ito sa bagong patakaran na ibinaba ni “Kuya” kamakailan sa mga housemates ng Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 matapos mapag-alaman ang nasabing isyu.
“Ibig sabihin pinagbabawalan ko na kayo nang makausap at makita ang mga tao na nasa kabilang kwarto, mula ngayon hanggang sa oras na itatakda. Mula sa sandaling ito, pinaghihiwalay ko ang mga lalaki at ang mga babae,” saad ni Kuya.

Sa ibinahaging social media post ng Gabriela Women’s Party noong Miyerkules, Disyembre 10, binigyang-diin nila na hindi lahat ng biro ay nakakatawa, at isa ang mga “inapproprioate jokes” at “objectifying remarks” sa mga isyung kinahaharap pa rin ng mga kabataan ngayon.
“The recent exchange on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 where female housemates called out inappropriate jokes and objectifying remarks highlights a broader cultural issue we continue to face: the normalization of “birong bastos” among young people,” panimula ng Gabriela.
“We appreciate how some of the housemates expressed why such comments are hurtful. These conversations, though difficult, are important steps toward building a culture of respect,” dagdag pa nila. “Hindi lahat ng biro ay nakakatawa — lalo na kung may nao-objectify. This is a learning moment not only for those inside the house, but for many watching from their own homes and schools.”
May ilang mungkahi din ang Gabriela para naman sa mga prodyuser at pamunuan ng naturang reality show.
“We encourage PBB’s producers to provide gender-sensitivity seminars for all housemates to deepen their understanding of consent, boundaries, and everyday sexism faced by women,” anila.
“Moreover, the reality show must also create guided conversations that help young viewers recognize why comments that objectify women are harmful, even when unintended,” dagdag pa nila.
“Gabriela Women’s Party is open to providing assistance should the producers or the PBB team wish to integrate stronger gender education components into the show. Malaking bagay na makita ng publiko na bawal ang bastos sa bahay ni Kuya,” pagtatapos ng Gabriela.
